Customer service was awesome and the carne asada was the best we've ever had. Walking in, you wouldn't guess you'll get great food (just a little run down) but it's definitely worth the stop. We will be back!

Stopped in on the way to Bakersfield and ordered rolled tacos. They were chicken and decent. Not great, but good. They need guacamole, but didn't have it. There was lettuce, some sour cream and cotilla cheese. It was good. Service was with a smile. The place looks like a dive on the outside, but seems to have good food

Antojitos Mexicanos is not a place you would drive by and stop in unless you have heard about it! It looks a little sketchy off of the 1-5 in the area north of the other well known chain establishments. I was told about this restaurant a couple years ago so if the time is right for a meal driving to the Bay Area I will make a stop here. The looks won't make you stop but the food and friendliness will bring you back. This is a Family run business literally next to a Subway. Carlos and his wife (Cook & Owners) are very friendly and helpful! There isn't many choices driving down the I-5 in this desolate area but Antojitos has home style Mexican food including home-made corn tortillas. Waiting for my order I saw many bowls of Caldo de Res and Tortas going out to other customers. I ordered Filete a La Plancha with nopales salad as the side (I would come back just for the nopales salad as it was fresh and tasty) instead of green salad, and other sides that came with it was whole beans & rice. The whole beans were too salty so I had a couple bites. And ordered taquitos that are huge and tasty. They have a couple of signs on the door that I appreciate, One says: "We are happy to provide assistance ". On another trip when I stopped in I saw Carlos come out and help a man that was in a wheelchair get out of the car and get seated at a table. Just that Service deserves a Star! Their motto: "Behind Every Small Business is a Family".

Overall: 4 Service: 5 Food: 3 Value: 4 Ambiance: small, counter service. Doesn't feel particularly clean. Dirty bathrooms shared with the subway restaurant next door Entree: chicken wet burrito Stopped here after seeing this on a list for the best places to stop on I-5. The burritos are priced reasonably and the quality is in line with that price. There wasn't any sauce on the inside so the beans and rice make the burrito feel a bit dry. In addition to some red or green sauce on the inside, it could also use more onions and cilantro. Still a good value for a quick lunch on a long drive. The guy who took my order was very nice. He filled up my water bottle and even gave me some ice.

Great food and staff. Had the street tacos and the homemade corn tortillas were awesome and the flavor was great with a little heat

Clean restaurant right off the freeway. The jamaica agua fresca was SUPER! I ordered the tacos. My husband the burrito. My sister-in-law the chicken quesadilla. Delicious

Absolutely amazing experience. The tacos were some of the best I've ever had. I actually went back and reordered more tacos twice. And the service could not be beat. The owner was friendly and spent more than 30 minutes chatting with us. The restaurant is bright and clean. It's a quick walk from the Holiday inn Express up the street. Or there's plenty of parking.

The Owner Carlos, is such a sweet Man, I asked for ice (I'd gladly pay for the cup) but the gentle said: "the ice machine is broken", but gave me a huge cup, anyway to fill next door at subway, the food was very Mexican authentic, the service is fast and prompt, they serve alcohol I believe and amazing cafe de olla (coffee with cinnamon sticks) unsweetened, and delicious, perfect for the road, the breakfast burritos hit the spot, the scenery was nice, people were super sweet, I'd give this 5 stars for sure, try it on your way thru the grapevine or back, it's really amazing' ~ Mike G

I was getting hangry. The Yelp rating brought me in, and boy, did Antojitos Mexicanos come thru for me. Wow. Yes, wow. It's looks kinda sketchy. In fact, this whole stop off the freeway is, well, not the best. Connected to a Subway, I walked in and found an overhead menu with missing letters from 1942. Not quite sure what I was reading nor could tell what the price would be, I ordered a Chili Verde super burrito -- $10.95, I think. I got it for the car, driving while I ate the thing. Other than piping hot and a bit saucy (not a great choice while driving), it had the "wow" factor. Housemade pinto beans were so so good, and with each bite of meat, I was in heaven. It was so filling, I only ate half. Then, about 4 hours later, ate the rest...and it was still warm. WTH? Anyway, it will be a regular stop off the 5. Hey! I have to pass by in a few days on my return trip...batter up!
